Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects; ability to work in a high-pressure environment with frequent deadlines and balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to work effectively with board members, volunteers and community leadership.
  • Passion for and understanding of DAP Health’s mission and history.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience fundraising for non-profits, experience in healthcare fundraising preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, techniques, and ethics.
  • Experience in devising strategies for cultivation and solicitation of donors and donor pipeline development.
  • Experience using donor/relationship management software to track donors, establish goals, and generate reports.
  • Lead and work in a team-oriented, friendly and energetic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move from place to place.
  • Requires current and valid driver’s license and current personal auto insurance.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures related to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to secure philanthropic support from a wide array of donors, through close collaboration with members of the philanthropy team, senior leaders, volunteers, and board members.
  • Responsible for meeting quarterly and annual goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a diverse base of donors.
  • Lead a team that is responsible for managing our mid-level giving program, Partners for Life, DAP Health’s Impact Program(s), donor communications, stewardship planning, and gift planning.
  • Hire, supervise, lead, coach, evaluate, and use best management practices to improve performance of assigned staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth among staff.
  • Ensure that the work of the Philanthropy team embraces DAP Health’s commitments to DEI, environmental sustainability, and organizational values.
  • Serve as a member of the Philanthropy Leadership Team.
  • Review weekly timesheets for accuracy, review employee submissions and updates as needed; approve timesheets by required timeline.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings (monthly at a minimum frequency, preferably bi-weekly), scheduled conversations, and annual performance reviews with direct reports by required timeline.
  • Attend mandatory Manager’s Learning Collaborative trainings.
  • Partner with People Operations to develop a learning plan for employee development goals to provide tools needed to excel in their position.
  • Implement and follow a process to address performance issues as they arise.
  • Prepare a comprehensive onboarding process for each specific position for all new hires.
  • Address serious issues that may require interventions or investigations.
  • Develop and monitor departmental and program/project operating budgets, costs and schedules.
  • Support and model the identified vision, values, and behaviors of the organization.
  • Create, implement, execute, and evaluate a plan for identifying and cultivating new individual donors with significant giving capacity.
  • Create and execute direct mail appeals, peer-to-peer campaigns, solicitation letters, and other donor outreach materials to support annual fundraising goals.
  • Create and execute data driven digital fundraising campaigns in partnership with the Brand Marketing team.
  • Maintain accurate records and achieve monthly targets on donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities utilizing best practices in moves management.
  • Manage a portfolio of 100-125 current and prospective donors.
  • Develop and implement a donor acquisition strategy to reach annual fundraising goals for all individual giving programs.
  • Work with the events management team to collaboratively develop and implement fundraising strategy for events and how to coordinate individual donor participation and support including sponsorship and attendance.
  • Develop strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit multi-year commitments for our Partners for Life Program and Impact Program.
  • Lead site visits, tours, and other personal contact with donors to steward contributions with timely follow up.
  • Identify and build strategies to create a donor pipeline.
  • Leverage and support the CEO, CPO other senior DAP Health staff, and the Board to deepen and solidify individual donor and family foundation relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team to create compelling donor-centric messaging and materials, including oversight of the production of the Annual Report.
  • Partner with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to build a pipeline of donors to feed into the major donor program.
  • Work closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to plan and implement small gatherings for prospect and donor cultivation/engagement.
  • Work with Philanthropy team to leverage events to increase individual giving, such as the Chase and cultivation events.
  • Assist in setting fundraising goals and objectives; communicate progress towards goals.
  • Work closely with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and the Brand Marketing team to develop communication plans and assets in both print and digital formats.
  • Serve as an influential DAP Health representative at community functions to establish and deepen donor relations.
  • Contribute to the intellectual and organizational capacity of DAP Health by staying apprised of local and national trends in healthcare and fundraising.
