About The Position

The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the leadership, direction, and operational oversight of perioperative services including the Operating Room (OR), Ambulatory Surgery, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, and workforce engagement. The Director collaborates closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and efficient surgical services operations.

Requirements

Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)-(AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
At least two (2) years of experience in Surgical Nursing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for all new hires after 1/11/2021.
Current PALS (AHA) Certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Nice To Haves

Current Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) (AORN) certificate(s) upon hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and operational oversight for Surgical Services, Ambulatory Surgery, and PACU departments
Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care
Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support operational and clinical goals
Lead staffing, workforce development, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives
Maintain regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and patient safety initiatives
Lead departmental performance improvement activities and quality initiatives
Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets and resource utilization
Serve as a clinical and operational resource regarding nursing practice, policies, and procedures
