The Director Perioperative Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all daily operational aspects to provide effective quality care for patients. This role involves planning and directing administrative and operational functions to maximize patient revenues, attract new patients, and meet regulatory requirements. The Director also prepares and administers departmental operating and capital budgets, monitors department productivity, and identifies areas for operational efficiency improvements. Key performance indicators related to outcomes, operations, growth, and finance are developed and monitored. The role includes oversight of leadership development and the creation and implementation of strategic plans that integrate departmental and organizational goals. This involves leading strategic planning, marketing, and new program development, as well as investigating and recommending new methods of patient care delivery. The Director is also responsible for developing and implementing business plans, quality initiatives, and process improvement projects to ensure continuous analysis and improvement in clinical outcomes. Furthermore, the position requires the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with department managers, directors, physicians, system-wide contacts, and external clients to meet program objectives. Professional and personal growth and development are also key aspects of this role, including staying abreast of current standards of care and participating in continuing education.
