The Director of People Operations Role. We are seeking a Director of People Operations to lead and scale our people function. This role will be responsible for building foundational HR processes, supporting talent strategy, and ensuring a strong, compliant, and engaging employee experience. This role is based in NYC is ideal for a strategic HR leader who enjoys building from the ground up, thrives in startup environments, and is comfortable balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or related roles
  • Experience in a leadership or senior HR role, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements
  • Experience building HR processes and programs from the ground up
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead People Operations strategy, including organizational design, workforce planning, and employee experience
  • Build and implement core HR processes including onboarding, performance management, and employee lifecycle management
  • Partner with leadership to support hiring plans, compensation strategy, and talent development
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and best practices across regulated and high-compliance environments
  • Oversee HR systems, documentation, and reporting, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
  • Support employee relations, engagement initiatives, and internal communications
  • Collaborate with recruiting to support hiring operations and candidate experience
  • Advise leadership on organizational health, culture, and people-related decision-making
