About The Position

The Director of Outreach and Admissions provide leadership in developing and executing strategies to engage referral sources, grow community partnerships, and manage the admissions process for individuals seeking addiction treatment services. This role is responsible for increasing awareness of the facility’s programs, ensuring timely and compassionate admissions, and supporting patients and families through the intake process. The Director oversees the outreach team, collaborates with clinical leadership, and ensures compliance with regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards. By combining marketing, relationship management, and operational oversight, this role plays a critical part in expanding access to care and advancing the mission of the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, marketing, social work, counseling, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in healthcare outreach, admissions, or business development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in addiction treatment, behavioral health, or related healthcare settings strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in building referral networks and increasing patient admissions.
  • Knowledge of payer systems, insurance verification, and healthcare compliance standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with ability to motivate and mentor staff.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to analyze data and adjust outreach and admissions strategies accordingly.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment models, healthcare systems, and community resources.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, admissions software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Customer service orientation and cultural sensitivity in working with patients and families.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to build strong referral networks with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the facility at conferences, community events, and professional associations to increase visibility and strengthen partnerships.
  • Oversee and manage the admissions team to ensure an efficient, patient-centered intake process.
  • Monitor inquiry and admissions data, analyze trends, and report outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Ensure admissions processes comply with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
  • Train and mentor outreach and admissions staff in effective communication, referral development, and intake procedures.
  • Collaborate with clinical and medical leadership to align outreach messaging with program offerings and treatment capabilities.
  • Manage marketing materials, referral communications, and outreach campaigns in coordination with communications or marketing teams.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and families, ensuring clarity in financial and program expectations during admissions.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives through admissions and outreach insights.
