About The Position

The NYC Department of Finance (DOF) administers the city’s tax revenue laws fairly, efficiently, and transparently, while providing exceptional customer service. Its Sheriff’s Office enforces court mandates, orders of protection, warrants, decrees, and property seizures; conducts criminal investigations involving real property fraud, tax crimes, and the trafficking of illegal and untaxed tobacco products and synthetic narcotics; and monitors defendants referred by courts for electronic monitoring. To address increasingly complex enforcement, investigative, technological, public safety, and interagency responsibilities, the Sheriff’s Office is establishing an Office of Organizational Strategy and Transformation. Led by the Director, this office will be the Sheriff’s Office’s central strategic coordination and performance management function, providing executive-level oversight of strategic priorities and cross-divisional initiatives. It will support interagency collaboration, data-informed decision-making, accountability, and continuous organizational and operational improvement. Reporting to the Sheriff, the Director will translate strategic priorities and the performance improvement plan into an actionable implementation strategy with defined objectives, milestones, and timelines. The role will coordinate initiatives across divisions and provide the Sheriff and DOF executive leadership with visibility into organizational performance and high-priority initiative status, while allowing operational leaders to focus on day-to-day enforcement activities. The position may be eligible for remote work up to two days per week under the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed between the City and the applicable Collective Bargaining Unit. New hires must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
