About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Operations to join the Data Center, Power, and Control Team. The Director of Operations is responsible for the end-to-end operational leadership, performance, and transformation of the Juarez, Mexico and Santa Teresa, NM manufacturing and distribution facilities, which are critical nodes within the DPC global value stream. This role drives the strategic direction, operational execution, and continuous transformation of the sites to deliver best-in-class performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and working capital, while enabling long-term growth, capacity expansion, and customer service excellence. Acts as a key leader within the DPC operations organization, partnering across business units and functions to align site performance with division strategy.

Requirements

Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing operations, supply chain, or related field is required.
10+ years of experience in a large and complex manufacturing environment.
5+ years of significant strategic management and leadership experience.
Must have a thorough knowledge of appropriate manufacturing methods, processes, and equipment.
Background with process improvement programs and quality initiatives required.
Proven experience in major value stream transformation.
Must have demonstrated experience in applying Lean tools and practices and driving a strong Lean/continuous improvement culture using tools and methodologies such as Kaizen / Kaikaku, advanced problem solving, and/or other recognized continuous improvement best practices.
Proven track record of delivering breakthrough results against stretch objectives and metrics is required.
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage P&L drivers, working capital, and operational cost performance.
This includes P&L statements, working capital, cash flow, and manufacturing variances.
Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail, and meeting management software.
Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise and manage others.
Able to foster open communication and support an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.

Responsibilities

Develop the vision and strategy for the facility and drive initiatives and actions to achieve them.
Build and lead strong cross-functional partnerships within a highly matrixed organization to align operations with evolving business needs.
Lead capacity and footprint decisions, ensuring effective integration of SIOP/IBP processes and alignment with working capital and service objectives.
Ensure effective integration of manufacturing and distribution operations to optimize service levels, lead times, and overall customer experience.
Provide leadership to the various manufacturing groups, including value stream leaders and centralized support functions, to ensure that financial and operational goals are met.
Proactively identify barriers and challenges that could negatively impact operations and implement effective solutions to minimize impact.
Lead efforts toward a zero-injury culture while being a strong leader in supporting CSR initiatives across the sites.
Understand the impact of new product launches, product transfers, projects, and other items on operations and ensure proper resources and planning are in place to effectively manage them.
Drive clear, consistent communication of site priorities, performance, and initiatives across all levels of the organization.
Promote a strong continuous improvement culture using Lean principles and tools.
Drive both value-added and material productivity improvements in support of company goals and objectives.
Primary point of contact for significant concerns or communications related to the Juarez and Santa Teresa facilities.
Interface with DPC Presidents, VP Global Operations DPC, Business Operations leaders, Sourcing, Quality, Opex & Modernization, H&S & CSR, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, and other functions to promote a high level of communication and collaboration.
Support activities related to the talent review and performance system, including establishing goals, reviewing performance, and salary administration.
Promote benchmarking, sharing of best practices, and collaboration between the various manufacturing teams to maximize operational synergies.
Benchmark external companies to evaluate new tools and processes that will drive the Juarez facility to world-class levels of performance.
Ensure availability of qualified labor.
Develop the team and talent required to achieve short- and long-term objectives.
Develop a successor (or successors) for the Director role.
Identify, propose, and obtain approval for large, impactful projects (capital and other) to drive step-change improvements in facility performance (productivity, service, quality, etc.).
Ensure the facility is capable of supporting the short- and long-term goals of the company.
Performs other similar and related duties as required.
