About The Position

Solid Rock Recruiting is partnering with a growing commercial painting contractor in the Milwaukee area to hire a Director of Operations. This leadership role will take ownership of day-to-day operations, improve processes, develop people, and help grow annual revenue while maintaining strong profitability. The Director of Operations will lead company operations and production, including project management, field operations, and support teams. Working closely with ownership, this person will help set priorities and growth initiatives, develop and execute the company’s long-term vision, and bring forward recommendations with clear plans, expected costs, and anticipated outcomes. The role calls for an experienced operator and right-hand leader who can make decisions independently, implement initiatives, and help build the systems and structure needed for continued growth. This is not a Senior Project Manager position. The position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Compensation is listed as a base salary of $125,000 or more, with performance incentives and target compensation around $135,000–$140,000 or more depending on performance. Flexibility is noted for a highly proven candidate based on experience and ability to drive results.

Requirements

Experience as a Director of Operations, Operations Manager, General Manager, Regional Manager, or in a similar leadership role.
Proven ability to lead and improve business operations.
Experience helping a company grow while maintaining profitability.
Strong understanding of budgeting, financial performance, and operational efficiency.
Ability to make decisions independently and take ownership of outcomes.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Strategic thinking and ability to implement identified priorities.
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with ownership.
