About The Position

IDC is seeking a Director, Commercial Operations to provide senior-level insight and operating leadership across some of our most important commercial priorities. This person will have a broad view across the Commercial portfolio and work directly with senior leaders to understand performance, identify where we need to go deeper, and shape the decisions and actions that follow. They will not simply respond to questions or report results. We expect them to recognize the questions we should be asking, develop a point of view grounded in the data and business context, and bring forward clear recommendations. Much of the work will cross functions and organizational boundaries. The Director will bring senior leaders and teams together around complex issues, challenge assumptions when needed, create clarity around what needs to happen next, and help drive action on priorities that matter to the business.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in Commercial Operations, Business Operations, Revenue Operations, Strategy, Transformation, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with business performance data, KPIs, trends, and operational metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to move from data to insight, understand broader business implications, and develop clear recommendations.
  • Experience advising senior leaders on high-priority business questions, strategic initiatives, or performance issues.
  • Experience developing executive reporting, business reviews, analyses, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Strong ability to structure ambiguous questions, develop hypotheses, and work through complex problems independently.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large or complex data sets.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to turn detailed information into clear, concise executive communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions without direct authority.
  • Experience improving reporting, workflows, or operating processes through better design, standardization, tools, or automation.
  • Strong communication, judgment, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and operate with a high degree of independence.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and business intelligence or reporting platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own analysis of key Commercial KPIs, trends, variances, and performance drivers across the portfolio.
  • Develop an integrated view across regions, segments, teams, and strategic priorities to identify where performance is changing, where risk is emerging, and where deeper attention is warranted.
  • Bring together data from multiple sources, reconcile inconsistencies, and investigate results that do not immediately make sense.
  • Look beyond headline numbers to understand underlying drivers, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Connect signals across different parts of the business to identify broader implications that may not be visible when each area is viewed independently.
  • Turn complex data and operational information into clear insights, implications, and recommended actions for senior leadership.
  • Take broad or ambiguous commercial questions, determine what needs to be understood, and structure the analysis required to get there.
  • Develop a point of view grounded in evidence and challenge assumptions when the data points somewhere else.
  • Advise leadership on critical commercial priorities by clarifying what is working, what is not, what has changed, and what decisions or trade-offs may be required.
  • Create executive reporting, business reviews, analyses, and presentations that make important issues easier to understand and act on.
  • Partner with senior leaders and teams across Commercial, Revenue Operations, Finance, Marketing, IT, and other functions on priorities that span organizational boundaries.
  • Bring together the right information, perspectives, and expertise to create a shared understanding of complex issues.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments and work through conflicting information, unclear ownership, or different points of view.
  • Create clarity around the inputs, decisions, actions, and deliverables needed from each contributor.
  • Hold owners accountable for commitments and follow through when required information, decisions, or actions are missing.
  • Surface unresolved issues early and bring the right leaders together when progress requires broader coordination or intervention.
  • Work with senior leaders and business owners to translate findings into clear actions and expected outcomes.
  • Evaluate whether actions taken are actually changing the result and identify when a different response is needed.
  • Recognize when an issue requires deeper analysis, a different approach, or senior leadership attention.
  • Help leadership focus on the issues that matter most and make sure important findings do not stop at the report, dashboard, or presentation.
  • Continuously improve the reporting, metrics, dashboards, and analytical approaches used to understand Commercial performance and strategic priorities.
  • Identify reporting and operational processes that are manual, fragmented, inconsistent, or harder than they need to be.
  • Work with partner teams to improve data quality, standardization, automation, and recurring workflows.
  • Build practical, scalable tools and processes that give leadership better visibility into the business and make it easier to identify issues and act on them.

Benefits

  • Meaningful work, backed by a culture that supports growth, collaboration, and long-term career development with a globally respected brand.
