About The Position

This position is with Henkel's Adhesive Technologies business unit, which focuses on providing customers with a competitive advantage through adhesives, sealants, and functional coatings. The role involves defining, implementing, and governing global process standards to achieve business objectives, managing new process setups, and driving continuous process improvement and automation. The Director of Operations will also be responsible for developing and tracking KPIs, driving best practice transfer, acting as a high-level escalation contact, managing global process-related projects, and conducting industry benchmarking.

Requirements

  • M.B.A, B.S. or B.A. degree in Engineering, Operations, or related technical field is preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience, 15+ years preferred, in manufacturing and product development.
  • Includes 10 years of senior leadership through plant/general management in manufacturing.
  • Professional comprehension and use of contract negotiation skills as it pertains to all aspects of the business.
  • Cost Center responsibility in general management or plant management in a manufacturing organization.
  • Leadership mentality with entrepreneurial spirit that is demonstrated by achieving desired results through others and building an effective management team through coaching and mentoring.
  • Possess and/or gain an in-depth technical knowledge of the applicable product lines.
  • Proven strategic and tactical skills, along with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Comprehensive business process and systems knowledge, such as ERP, and the ability to identify and implement best practices.
  • Digital affinity for project management and systems background.
  • Great team player with hands-on mentality, possessing a strong work ethic, and high standards that link to exceptional business values and ethics.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Defines, implements and governs global process standards that ensure the realization of BU long- and short-term objectives and strategy
  • Monitors and manages new process setup to match new business needs in collaboration with regional process owners and key user community
  • Drives continuous process improvement, development of tools and systems enabling enhanced process automation in the respective processes
  • Drives automation to increase speed, reliability and to increase share of variable cost over fixed cost
  • Develops, aligns and consistently tracks the KPI framework for the processes
  • Drives best practice transfer across regions and supports continuous reduction of complexity
  • Acts as highest de-escalation contact for the processes across all regions
  • Drives the implementation of process related global projects in the respective process area
  • Conducts benchmarking of processes or practice within the industry
