About The Position

The Director of Nursing Network is responsible for delivering physical care to patients, administering medications, collecting and processing specimens, facilitating care coordination, overseeing referrals and insurance verification, and maintaining current protocols and procedures. This role also involves administering clinical policies and procedures, practicing sterile technique and universal precautions, and handling blood and body fluids. The Director ensures high-quality patient care by mentoring and educating nursing staff, providing clinical and managerial support to providers and practices, and coordinating work activities and schedules for clinical staff. Performance evaluations of clinical staff, recommendations for merit increases and disciplinary actions, and oversight of staffing coverage, patient lab reporting, inventory control, and medical supply ordering are key responsibilities. The position requires adherence to controlled substance regulations, accurate charting of patient information, and identification and accumulation of data for performance and quality metrics. Development and monitoring of programs to improve healthcare delivery quality, evaluation of office systems and procedures, and implementation of quality programs are also essential. The Director will assist with in-services and educational programs for employees and physicians regarding quality care, educate on necessary changes for quality care, and assist with patient satisfaction surveys. Participation in committees promoting quality care, receiving and responding to complaints related to professional liability and HIPAA compliance, and enhancing professional growth through various development opportunities are expected. The role promotes wellness through patient education materials, communicates provider advice, and fosters effective and courteous communication in a friendly, safe, timely, and quality-driven environment responsive to patient needs.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with three years' experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Master's degree required.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of applicable state and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of professional nursing practices including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
• Knowledge of management and leadership principles including program development, implementation, and evaluation
• Knowledge of health care field and medical specialty
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and universal precautions to establish a safe work environment

Responsibilities

• Administers clinical policies and procedures in a timely manner. Practices sterile technique and universal precautions. Handles blood and body fluids and deals with infectious patients.
• Ensures high-quality patient care of nursing staff by mentoring and educating.
• Provides a broad range of clinical and managerial support to the provider and practice. Coordinates the work activities and schedules for clinical staff.
• Evaluates performance of clinical staff and coordinates with office manager the recommendations for merit increases and/or disciplinary action. Oversees appropriate scheduling of staffing coverage, including planned and unplanned absences, patient lab reporting system, inventory control, and medical supply ordering.
• Adheres to applicable state controlled substance regulations. Administers medications as directed by provider.
• Accurately charts patient information in the medical record, reviews with provider, and obtains provider?s signature.
• Identify and accumulate data necessary for development of performance and quality metrics.
• Develops and monitors programs designed to improve the quality of health care delivery. Evaluates systems and procedures within an office and help implement quality programs.
• Assists with periodic in-services, educational programs for employees and physicians regarding quality care related subjects. Educate as to why quality care may involve changes. Assists with patient satisfaction surveys.
• May participate on committees directed towards promoting quality care.
• Receives complaints and claims related to professional liability and HIPAA compliance. Works with manager in responding to complaint or claim.
• Enhances professional growth and development through in-service meetings, educational programs and conferences, and participates in committees as requested.
• Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials. Communicates provider advice/instructions to patients. Communicates effectively and courteously on the telephone and in person with patients and colleagues. Provides a friendly, safe, timely, quality-driven environment responsive to patient needs.
