About The Position

Oversee and manage the Distribution Center operations, typically assigned to small to medium sized facilities. This role involves ensuring order fulfillment and production, planning, leading, and measuring all daily processes. It also includes managing all human resource processes at the local facility, such as staffing, performance management, compensation administration, and training and development. The Director of Operations is responsible for efficient utilization and proper return on capital assigned to the distribution center, ensuring material is received and moved correctly, and overseeing all aspects of inventory management. The role supports contract negotiations for new business, provides timely responses to service failures and customer concerns, and involves visiting key accounts. Additionally, the position ensures safe practices are in place and followed, monitors work team activities, ensures housekeeping guidelines are followed, and oversees the maintenance of warehouse equipment and the private truck fleet.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 10 years experience in a distribution center environment.
  • At least 5 years management experience, with experience in sourcing and selecting supervisors, support personnel and warehouse associates.
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • Able to work a full early and late shift plus weekends a minimum of once a month.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds with the ability to stand or walk for prolong periods of time.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments (32F – 95F).
