Director of Operations

Momentum Employer GroupLayton, UT
Hybrid

About The Position

This is a build it better, run it smarter, lead it forward kind of role. At Out of the Woods in Layton, Utah, we create high-end custom cabinetry and stone/quartz countertops that end up in some pretty incredible spaces. Behind the scenes? It takes a sharp, hands-on operations leader to make sure everything-from shop floor to final install-runs like a well-oiled machine. That's where you come in.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of operations leadership experience in manufacturing, construction, or installation
  • Experience running full operations, not just one department
  • Strong business acumen-you understand how decisions impact the bottom line
  • Proven ability to build teams, develop leaders, and drive accountability
  • A process mindset-you don't just fix problems, you prevent them
  • Confidence working with executives and contributing to big-picture strategy
  • Solid communication skills (you can talk to the shop floor and the boardroom)
  • Tech-savvy enough to navigate the basics (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and the ability to travel to and from job sites

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end operations: manufacturing, fabrication, and installation
  • Build and improve systems that reduce errors, rework, and those "we have to go back to the job site again?" moments
  • Own production and installation schedules-balancing capacity, timelines, and reality
  • Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable (while still being someone people want to work for)
  • Keep a close eye on costs, efficiency, and margins-because great operations = profitable operations
  • Develop and mentor your leadership team (this is not a one-person show)
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategy, growth, and long-term planning
  • Oversee equipment, vehicles, and assets like you paid for them yourself
  • Lead safety efforts and make sure everyone goes home in one piece-every day
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and partners
  • Use data to spot problems early and fix them before they become expensive

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • Simple IRA
  • Voluntary Life Insurance
  • Up to 6 PTO days per year
  • 6 paid holidays
