About The Position
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of nursing care and services provided to residents. The role includes monitoring the quality and appropriateness of care through resident rounds and developing and implementing a written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident population.
Requirements
- RN license required.
- Current CPR certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Management or supervisory experience in a long-term care, post-acute care, restorative, or geriatric nursing setting is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care and services provided to residents.
- Schedule and perform resident rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
- Develop and implement a written staffing plan and nursing schedule that reflects the needs of the resident population.
