Elderwood at North Creek is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead their nursing department and drive clinical excellence. This leadership position offers the opportunity to shape resident care, strengthen clinical teams, and build a culture of accountability, compassion, and excellence. The facility has earned a 4-Star Overall Rating from CMS, indicating a commitment to quality care, strong staffing, and positive resident outcomes. The Director of Nursing will lead the overall clinical direction, partner with an engaged Administrator and leadership team, build and mentor nursing leaders, influence quality outcomes, resident satisfaction, and staff engagement, and drive meaningful improvements.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with active NY license
- Proven nursing leadership experience in a SNF or healthcare setting
- Strong background in staff development, team building, and clinical operations
- Experience with regulatory compliance and survey processes
- A leader who is decisive, accountable, and people-focused
- Someone who can balance clinical excellence with operational realities
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a high-performing, engaged nursing team
- Drive clinical excellence, documentation accuracy, and care planning standards
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure regulatory compliance and survey readiness
- Partner with leadership to improve retention, reduce agency reliance, and strengthen staffing stability
- Serve as a visible, hands-on leader supporting staff and residents
