About The Position

Signet Health is recruiting an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) for their new adult inpatient unit at a state-of-the-art, freestanding psychiatric hospital in Midland, TX. The DON will be an active member of the leadership/management team, responsible for nursing services for the adult inpatient behavioral health programs. This role involves collaborating with the leadership team to ensure the highest level of patient safety and treatment.

Requirements

  • Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Texas
  • 5+ years of behavioral health nursing management experience required

  • Managing performance through rewards, recognition, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Providing mentorship and career counseling to aspiring clinicians and leaders for succession planning.
  • Establishing and allocating staff resources in accordance with regulatory guidelines utilizing patient acuity and budgetary indicators as primary benchmarks.
  • Understanding, articulating, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Accepting accountability for services through which direct nursing care is given, including day-to-day unit operations, staff competencies and standards of care, and achievement of clinical and administrative policies, mandates, and projects.
  • Promoting a public image of program excellence through marketing and promotion of nursing through professional communication, presentations, publication, and committee membership.
  • Supporting, designing, and monitoring the development and implementation of patient and employee safety initiatives.
