About The Position
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and elevate patient care in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This leadership role is ideal for a proven nurse leader / nursing director with strong experience in hospital operations, staff management, and quality improvement.
Requirements
- Active Florida RN license (or compact)
- 5+ years of nursing leadership experience (Manager, Director, or equivalent)
- Strong background in acute care, hospital operations, or healthcare management
- Proven success in team leadership, performance improvement, and staff development
- BSN required
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and accreditation processes
Nice To Haves
- MSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing operations, staffing, and clinical performance across departments
- Lead, mentor, and develop nurse managers, RNs, and clinical teams
- Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and Florida healthcare regulations
- Manage budgets, staffing models, and operational KPIs
- Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes
