Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience, education and training.
  • 5 years minimum nursing home or skilled nursing facility experience required in a management position or higher.
  • Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association; Advance Cardiac Life Support certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Proficient with TULIP, PB&J, NHSN, Sam’s, iQIES and MDS.
  • Knowledgeable in CMS regulations and the PDPM for SNF.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates ability to resolve complex issues through utilization of appropriate communication techniques.

Responsibilities

  • The Skilled Nursing Facility Director of Nursing (Director) is responsible for managing the operations of the skilled nursing facility.
  • Collaborating with the AVP, the Director is responsible and accountable for initiating and guiding the delivery of safe, patient centered, quality services as provided by the staff.
  • Knowledge of a patient centered care model, HHSC State regulations, Infection Control, OSHA Safety, staffing, maintenance standards and operations budgeting.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to elevate staff training as well as learn new systems.
  • Flexibility to assist with LTC QIPP Program and component metrics.
