About The Position

Diversicare is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to lead its nursing department and promote high-quality care for patients and residents. The role shapes the quality of care and residents’ lives, advances the nursing department, and supports the facility’s mission. The Director of Nursing fosters a workplace culture grounded in trust, respect, customer focus, compassion, diplomacy, appreciation, and strong communication. The position includes administrative leadership, budget support, staff development, and evaluation of nursing services to improve resident care, well-being, and functional independence. The Director assumes responsibility in the Administrator’s absence and works with key stakeholders to support compliance and best practices.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
Demonstrated managerial and administrative ability.
At least two years of supervisory experience.
Ability to organize and plan programs, assign personnel, and evaluate reports and data to drive quality improvement initiatives.

Nice To Haves

Experience in long-term care or working with geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

Assume responsibility in the Administrator’s absence.
Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain best practices.
Assist in preparing and administering the department budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Recruit, coach, and evaluate nursing staff while fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
Analyze and evaluate nursing services to enhance resident care.
Develop systems that promote resident well-being and functional independence.
