About The Position

The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of home health clinical services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and achievement of clinical and operational goals. The DON leads and develops clinical staff, oversees patient care delivery, and supports the Administrator in managing day-to-day operations of the agency.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida
  • Minimum 2–4 years of healthcare experience, including leadership or supervisory experience in home health or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations, OASIS documentation, and home health operations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to analyze data and drive clinical performance improvements
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel within the service area as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all patient care services provided by clinical staff
  • Provide leadership and oversight in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare guidelines
  • Review patient charts, clinical documentation, and staff activity reports to ensure quality and compliance
  • Monitor clinical outcomes and implement performance improvement initiatives
  • Lead, manage, train, and develop nursing and clinical staff
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards of care
  • Collaborate with the Administrator to achieve agency goals and operational objectives
  • Participate in leadership meetings and support organizational initiatives
  • Serve as acting Administrator in their absence, as needed
