About The Position

Albany Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF) in Evanston, IL, is seeking an inspirational, well-organized, and empathetic Director of Nursing (DON). The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and will be dedicated to positively impacting both staff and consumers, with a passion for providing uncompromised excellence in psychiatric patient care and striving for individual professional development. Albany Care is a 24-hour facility focused on the treatment and recovery of individuals affected by chronic psychiatric disorders, treating conditions such as Schizo-Affective Disorder, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia in a residential, home-like setting.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of Director of Nursing (DON) experience
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Illinois
  • Nursing experience in a residential mental health setting required
  • Clinical and supervisory experience required
  • Previous hospital and/or long term care facility experience required

Nice To Haves

  • DON experience preferably in a psych facility

Responsibilities

  • Direct staff and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to support to the residents and their families
  • Supervise scheduling of staff to ensure uninterrupted service
  • Interviewing and hiring clinical staff
  • Assist in completing monthly audits of sample EMR charting
  • Review admissions/referrals and assist in interviewing/selecting residents for admission with the Executive Director's approval
  • Serve as chairperson of the Quality Assurance Committee and any other committees as required by existing regulations or as appointed by the Executive Director
  • Prepare clinical nursing reports for the quarterly Quality Assurance meetings
  • Prepare Performance Improvement reports as required by JCAHO guidelines
  • Supervise the MDS/Care Plan Coordinator to ensure that all MDS forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner
