About The Position

This role focuses on selling memorable experiences to guests by building strong relationships and leveraging in-depth knowledge of the property. The Director of National Accounts will solicit group business, achieve sales objectives, establish parameters, negotiate prices, and seal contracts. This position involves participating in tradeshows, conventions, and promotional events, while maintaining detailed account information. The role includes hosting site and pre-planning visits, developing monthly sales strategies and action plans with quarterly quotas, and fostering relationships with the Fairmont Global Sales Office and key industry partners. A key responsibility is maintaining active membership in relevant industry organizations and associations. The Director will also mentor the Group Sales team, manage large programs (350+ on peak), and possess strong contract negotiation skills, including the ability to draft hotel agreements with specialized clauses. A proven track record of efficient lead response and strong conversion is essential. This role involves acting as an Account Manager for top-performing hotel accounts, focusing on developing repeat business opportunities, and serving as a seasoned customer advisor capable of building trust. Collaboration with seasoned hotel leaders and building trust with them is also a part of this role. Post-closing, the Director will coordinate with convention services, catering, and other departments to ensure promised services are delivered. Market and competitive intelligence will be collected to assess and implement strategies and long-term goals. The role includes assisting in the planning and strategies of the Group Sales effort, developing competitive intelligence, and preparing the Marketing plan, particularly for the group segment. Special projects as assigned will also be handled in a timely manner. The overarching goal is creating memorable experiences for customers.

Requirements

  • Relevant hotel sales experience is a must
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably a minimum of one year in large group hotel or two years in boutique hotel.
  • Luxury hotel experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit group business, and reach consistent achievement of sales objectives
