About The Position

Varcity Retirement Village is seeking an exceptional Director of Membership, a refined, relationship-driven sales leader, to guide its membership strategy, build lasting partnerships, and shape the growth of this remarkable community. This role involves crafting experiences, fostering belonging, and bringing to life a standard of excellence worthy of the residents and the brand. The Director of Membership will serve as the face of Varcity, leading all sales, membership, and marketing efforts with the grace and poise of a premier hospitality professional. This includes curating personalized experiences for prospective members and families, cultivating strategic referral relationships, and championing the Varcity lifestyle through immersive events, refined presentations, and elevated service. The role requires close partnership with the General Manager and corporate leadership to shape a culture of excellence, ensuring every interaction reflects Varcity's Personal Touch Culture and Western States' commitment to hospitality, warmth, and trust.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, hospitality, or related field (or equivalent leadership experience).
  • 7+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in premier hospitality, private clubs, premium residential, or high-end travel sectors.
  • Located or willing to relocate to West Lafayette, Indiana.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep understanding of high-end consumer behavior and personalized service.
  • Proven ability to craft and execute strategic sales and marketing plans.
  • Proficiency in CRM and data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with warmth, elegance, and integrity.

  • Drive membership growth, revenue, and occupancy through sophisticated sales leadership and strategic marketing execution.

  • Host exceptional presentations and immersive tours that convey the luxury, lifestyle, and legacy of Varcity.
  • Ensure every inquiry, lead, and conversation receives prompt, personalized attention and ongoing engagement.
  • Uphold the highest standards of presentation across all touchpoints - from event staging to the member experience within the community.
  • Manage CRM systems, track key performance metrics, and drive informed strategies that exceed sales and occupancy goals.
  • Act as a true ambassador - presenting with elegance, authenticity, and hospitality at every interaction.
