About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. This role involves providing clinical and strategic leadership for the high-risk obstetric program at a Level III Maternal Level of Care, safety-net hospital. The position focuses on ensuring high-quality, evidence-based maternal-fetal care, leading program development, driving quality improvement initiatives for a diverse patient population, and collaborating with hospital leadership. The Director will also oversee and support MFM faculty, provide education and mentorship, foster research, develop community partnerships, and participate in multidisciplinary care coordination. The role reports to the Chairperson of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Board Certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
  • Active or eligible for a New York State Medical License.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role within an MFM program, preferably in a safety-net or academic medical center.
  • Strong track record of clinical excellence, quality improvement, and research in high-risk obstetrics.
  • Commitment to health equity, community engagement, and reducing disparities in maternal and perinatal outcomes.
  • Experience in program development, team leadership, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Academic rank of Associate Professor or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and strategic leadership for the high-risk obstetric program.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based maternal-fetal care.
  • Lead program development and strategic planning to expand and enhance MFM services.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives focused on improving perinatal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and administration on clinical operations, program priorities, and quality initiatives.
  • Oversee and support MFM faculty and contribute to their development.
  • Provide education and mentorship to healthcare professionals and trainees in the management of high-risk pregnancies.
  • Foster research and academic initiatives that advance maternal-fetal medicine.
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations and public health agencies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration for coordinated care.
  • Perform perinatal ultrasound interpretation, antepartum consultation, and ambulatory care for high-risk patients (60% clinical).
  • Manage program administration, strategic planning, research, quality improvement, and faculty development (40% administrative).
  • Share call coverage with other MFM Physicians in the division, with an embedded call requirement of 128 hours per week for 17 weeks.
