About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. This role provides clinical and strategic leadership for the high-risk obstetric program at a Level III Maternal Level of Care, safety-net hospital. The position involves leading program development, driving quality improvement initiatives, collaborating with hospital leadership, overseeing MFM faculty, and fostering research and academic initiatives. The Director will also develop partnerships with community organizations and participate in multidisciplinary collaboration. The role reports to the Chairperson of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Board Certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
  • Active or eligible for a New York State Medical License.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role within an MFM program, preferably in a safety-net or academic medical center.
  • Strong track record of clinical excellence, quality improvement, and research in high-risk obstetrics.
  • Commitment to health equity, community engagement, and reducing disparities in maternal and perinatal outcomes.
  • Experience in program development, team leadership, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Academic rank of Associate Professor or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership for the high-risk obstetric and MFM program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based maternal-fetal care.
  • Lead program development and strategic planning to expand and enhance MFM services and improve access to specialized care.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives focused on improving perinatal outcomes for a complex and diverse patient population with significant maternal and neonatal health needs.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and administration on clinical operations, program priorities, quality initiatives, and the continued growth of perinatal services.
  • Oversee and support MFM faculty and contribute to their academic, clinical, and professional development.
  • Provide education and mentorship to obstetricians, midwives, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, trainees, and medical students in the management of high-risk pregnancies.
  • Foster research and academic initiatives that advance maternal-fetal medicine and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations, public health agencies, and other stakeholders to strengthen maternal and perinatal health services.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure coordinated care for patients with complex maternal and fetal conditions.
  • Report to the Chairperson of Obstetrics and Gynecology and work collaboratively with departmental and hospital leadership to achieve program goals.
  • Perinatal ultrasound interpretation, antepartum consultation, and ambulatory care for patients with high-risk obstetric needs.
  • Program administration, strategic planning, research, quality improvement, faculty development, and other leadership responsibilities.
  • Shared call coverage with other MFM Physicians in the division.
