About The Position

The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (CEHHS) at UT Knoxville is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the college's marketing initiatives. This role involves providing leadership and accountability for the marketing and communications team, and coordinating with the UT Office of Communications and Marketing to ensure brand alignment and university standardization. The director will develop an integrated marketing strategy encompassing content strategy, student communication innovations, inbound marketing, paid media, donor communications, data analysis, and project management. This position will lead an internal team and act as the main point of contact for external vendors and partners. The director will report to the dean, be part of the dean's leadership team, and collaborate with academic and operational leadership to align with College priorities. This role is crucial for advancing CEHHS's research and student experience goals and requires adaptability in a changing environment. The director will supervise at least three professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the College's marketing efforts.
  • Provide leadership and accountability for the marketing and communications team.
  • Coordinate with the UT Office of Communications and Marketing to ensure brand alignment, integrity, and overall university standardization.
  • Develop an integrated marketing strategy including content strategy, outbound student communications innovations, inbound marketing, paid media, donor communications, data and trends analysis, and project management.
  • Lead an internal team.
  • Serve as the primary contact for outside vendors and partners.
  • Report to the dean and serve on the dean's leadership team.
  • Work closely with academic and operational leadership to stay informed of College priorities and opportunities.
  • Help CEHHS achieve its research and student experience goals.
  • Continually update priorities and tactics to reflect the operating environment.
  • Supervise at least three other professionals.
