About The Position

We are searching for an Assisted Living Director of Maintenance for Chatham Place at Mary Wade. Our resident population is primarily seniors with varying levels of acuity. Chatham Place is the Assisted Living / Memory Care Community that is part of Mary Wade. The community includes 84 units, a combination of one bedroom and studio apartments. 20 units are Memory Care and the rest are traditional Assisted Living. We have a bistro, a salon/spa, a fitness center and a rooftop terrace!

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the senior retirement community or healthcare setting is required
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with peers and other departments.
  • Engages in positive customer service interaction with residents, families and visitors.
  • Takes ownership of an error in delivery of service and works to correct the problem.
  • Displays good attendance and is punctual.
  • Ability to have positive communication, work ethics and teamwork with employees.
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General maintenance skills; such as basic electrical, plumbing P.V.C. lines and copper and general mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all maintenance and environmental service team members to ensure the campus meets company standards.
  • Provide all preventative maintenance efforts and repairs of the building’s systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, major appliances and amenities.
  • Manages and supervises all maintenance, environmental and laundry employees including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring and discipline consistent with company policy.
  • Manages all resident service requests with a work order system; including prioritization and delegation to assigned staff.
  • Maintain company customer service standards. Follow through to ensure issue is resolved.
  • Manages the apartment turnover and preventative maintenance programs to maximize the value to the community.
  • Assesses the value of damage to the apartment homes that is charged to departing resident.
  • Inspects grounds, building and apartments on a regular basis to ensure that all physical aspects of the community are fully functional at all times.
  • Implements, or directs the implementation, of all applicable Mary Wade policies and procedures. Ensures compliance as needed.
