About The Position

Allegro Living, a premier senior living platform formed by the merger of Allegro Management Company and Spring Arbor Management Company, is seeking a dynamic Resident Care Director (also known as Director of Nursing or Health & Wellness Director) for its Alto Wheaton facility. This key leadership role is responsible for clinical excellence, team development, regulatory compliance, and ensuring residents receive exceptional, compassionate care. The Resident Care Director oversees day-to-day activities in Assisted Living, including resident services, associate management, general administration, and physical maintenance, aiming for deficiency-free surveys and high resident and associate satisfaction.

Requirements

  • RN license in Illinois required
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Minimum two (2) year's experience in Long Term Care, AL, or other equivalent geriatric care with AL training, with demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of the elderly.
  • At least one (1) year supervisory nursing experience.
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Licensed RN or LPN in good standing with the state licensing agency, as required by state regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous management experience highly preferred
  • Assisted Living / Memory Care experience strongly preferred
  • Open to strong Assistant Directors ready to step into the next level of leadership
  • Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update individualized service plans for each resident in Assisted Living (AL) with input from Resident Assistants.
  • Ensure the team maintains current knowledge of residents' activities of daily living (ADL) needs and requirements.
  • Identify the ongoing needs of residents to maintain the highest level of wellbeing.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels through effective scheduling and maintain department staffing schedules utilizing the electronic payroll system.
  • Work closely and maintain daily communications with the Assistant Resident Care Director and/or Program Director for Memory Care in administering and managing the Department, thereby ensuring continuity of care and services for the residents.
  • Communicate with families, residents, and appropriate health care providers regarding areas of concern and collaborate to find solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
