About The Position

Oversee all maintenance needs and manage maintenance staff for a two-campus facility including buildings and grounds. The Director is expected to report to work even when the College is closed due to inclement weather or other reasons. Supervise maintenance staff, including, but not limited to, assigning tasks based on the needs of the college; providing training opportunities; and performing annual evaluations for direct reports. Review work orders to ensure work is performed and work orders are closed in system. Obtain quotes and schedule work on buildings and equipment with outside contractors as needed. Schedule vehicle and equipment maintenance on a routine basis and assist with equipment and property repairs as needed. Order equipment and materials, including supplies for maintenance and custodial departments according to the College’s purchasing policy. Develop and administer training program for all maintenance and custodial personnel on proper ways to clean and maintain facilities. Bring buildings up to standards set by OSHA and other regulatory agencies pertaining to safety-related conditions. Be aware of hazards and mitigate the risks to avoid accidents and ensure there are safety supplies/equipment available for the safety of all employees. Schedule regular maintenance and inspections of First Aid Boxes and Fire Extinguishers. Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, structural, cosmetic, and service related parts of the facilities that do not require a licensed contractor. Schedule grounds work for both campuses , including ensuring the lawn care contractor is performing work according to agreement. Assist with design and installation of renovations to facilities. Assist with cleaning facilities (if needed) when custodial staff is out or when doing special maintenance such as waxing, cleaning floors, etc. Deliver materials and equipment to departments and aid in setup. Assist with set up of events and special functions for the College and the Foundation, such as golf tournament. Report to Vice President of Administrative Services any facility maintenance and equipment needs. Do clerical work for department (i.e. E-Procurement, Doc-e-Fill) and maintain accurate records. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 4 years relevant full-time work experience
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate Degree in Facility Maintenance or related field
  • License in Electrical, HVAC, or Construction a plus
