About The Position

This role involves leading logistics and distribution operations, supporting organizational goals, and developing a team. The Director of Logistics will be a vital part of the patient care process, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness in operations. The position is full-time and benefit eligible, with standard business hours, Monday-Friday, and weekends/nights as needed. The role will have incidental exposure to Protected Health Information (PHI) and employees will be trained on safeguards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of transportation/ logistic experience.
  • 5+ years related manager experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSH and DOT regulations.
  • A valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record for the past three years.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under time constraints, without close supervision.
  • Physical capability of regular standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 50lbs).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% in division area.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree in Logistic, Business, or other relevant subject.
  • Previous laboratory and/ or medical transportation experience.
  • Military experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process by leading logistics and distribution operations.
  • Support Operations with organizational goals and objectives, including developing and inspiring your team of employees.
  • Create and department approval of related policy manuals for review and approval by senior management.
  • Maintain service contracts and maintenance records.
  • Establish and maintain an internal order acquisition process to maximize cost effectiveness and reduce waste.
  • Oversee internal and outsourced courier operations.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with contract courier companies and rental terms for courier fleet.
  • Troubleshoot outsourced courier company issues.
  • Maintain department goals, schedule and workload to maximize efficiency of effort.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Federal and State transportation, shipping and storage regulations and act as company resource.
  • Manage departmental resources, optimize processes, and maximize profitability.
  • Interact with a variety of clients and commit to customer-focused service.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
