About The Position

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a transplant nephrologist to serve as Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program during a pivotal period of growth and transformation. Following several years of significant expansion in transplant volume, clinical complexity, and institutional investment, the program is entering its next phase—focused on consolidating momentum while advancing innovative priorities in living donor transplantation, clinical trials, and translational research. This role offers a rare opportunity to lead and shape an evolving academic transplant program, with strong mentorship, protected leadership time, and the resources to build durable impact across clinical care, research, and education.

Requirements

Board-certified or board-eligible in Nephrology
Certification as a transplant nephrologist
Must hold a MD or DO degree
Qualify for a Massachusetts license

Responsibilities

Lead and shape an evolving academic transplant program.
Drive program innovation and growth, including clinical pathway optimization, quality outcomes, and patient access.
Advance innovative priorities in living donor transplantation, clinical trials, and translational research.
Provide strong mentorship.
Engage in clinical care, research, and education.
