About The Position

Works cooperatively with consultants from Maryland Family Network who are responsible for implementations and evaluation of Family Support Center program; Develops and implements a collaborative system of services and resources for children, youth and families in Kent County. The position is responsible for all departmental functions, with the primary focus of improving outcomes in the areas of health, education and community stability. This position relates to people of diverse educational, cultural and economic backgrounds.

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years’ experience.
  • Valid Maryland Driver’s License and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Knowledge of standard office software.
  • Ability to use community engagement software (including, but not limited to Constant Contact, Survey Monkey and Doodle Polls) to create electronic newsletters and surveys.

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Or equivalent technical training, education or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all aspects of program development, supervision of staff, budget, fiscal management, enrollment, and facilities.
  • Keeps accurate records, establishes priorities, and oversees financial matters and prepares budgets with multiple sources of income.
  • Ability to garner additional funding when necessary.
  • Facilitates the smooth flow of the program and ensures its adherence to stated philosophy.
  • Oversees the care, safety, and well-being of staff, participants, and volunteers.
  • Coordinates staff meetings, staff orientation and training, and encourages professional development.
  • Helps participants to identify needs.
  • Networks with the community by coordinating community outreach.
  • Ability to plan and organize use of resources effectively.
  • Prepares and manages department budget.
  • Represents the County at designated meetings at local and state levels; participate in committees and/or organizations that further the County’s mission and goals.
  • Attends sponsoring agency, MFN Directors' and FSC Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Prepares research findings, data analysis and presentations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
