About The Position

The Director of Information Technology is the head of IT for Encore Electric. The Director of IT plays a key leadership role in planning, managing, and improving technology systems that support construction operations, field teams, office staff, cybersecurity, data, and business growth. This role is based full-time at our office in Lakewood, CO.

Requirements

  • Eight years of progressive IT experience, including experience leading IT operations, teams, projects, systems, and vendor relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, business, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, continuing education, and relevant IT and non-IT leadership experience may be considered.
  • Experience in the construction industry is required.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Strategy, Change, and Execution team to prioritize execution of programs and projects that require information technology.
  • Deliver strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, change management, and coordination of the communications and information technology systems.
  • Ensure field technology solutions are practical, adopted, and improve jobsite execution.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives that improve field productivity, project delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish budgetary and performance controls.
  • Lead the IT Leadership team and its weekly L10 meeting.
  • Maintain and (if necessary, add to) the IT department structure that supports the needs of the business, including field operations, office teams, and company leadership.
  • Set and manage IT department goals, priorities, processes, and service expectations.
  • Identify practical and cost-effective ways to invest in technology, staffing, software, hardware, and support services.
  • Evaluate and communicate risks related to IT systems, projects, vendors, security, and technology investments.
  • Help develop, track, and manage IT operating and capital budgets in alignment with company priorities.
  • Refine governance processes to prioritize and align IT and construction technology investments with business goals.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Coordinate with the Encore Internal Project steering committee in the project execution and implementation of any project that requires IT.
  • Advise leadership on the business impact of technology decisions and investments.
  • Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
  • Define and communicate corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems.
  • Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of IT systems performance.
  • Lead the company’s cybersecurity strategy, including risk management, incident response, compliance, and security awareness.
  • Support and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for key systems and technology services.
  • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices.
  • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including government, vendors, and partner organizations.
  • Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all IT staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies.
  • Ensure IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
