About The Position

The Director IT & Systems is responsible for overseeing HydroPeptide’s technology ecosystem, ensuring reliability, security, and alignment with business needs. This role leads and develops a small internal team (2–3 employees), manages day-to-day IT operations, coordinates with Managed Service Provider (MSP) for security and infrastructure and supports system integrations across supply chain, finance, e-commerce, and commercial teams. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role maintains the IT roadmap and ensures technology enables operational efficiency, cost control, brand positioning, and scalable growth. The Director of IT & Systems ensures our technology systems are as high performing as our products. Key Details: Where You’ll Work: Hybrid – this role will work from our head office 3 days/week and from home the remainder. However, additional on-site presence may be required to support team collaboration, meetings, and other business needs. Your Hours: Full-Time working typical Pacific Time business hours will require some flexibility including evenings & weekends on occasion? Physical Demands: Primarily desk-based with occasional hands-on IT support, including moving light equipment (up to 25–40 lbs) and navigating office workspaces as needed. Travel Expectations: Minimal travel, mainly local travel between Bellevue HQ and Auburn Warehouse

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-7 years in IT leadership, management, or systems administration. Experience working with MSPs preferred.
  • Platform Expertise: Direct experience with ERP (Acumatica, NetSuite, or SAP), CRM (Salesforce) is highly preferred, in addition to proven expertise in E-commerce (Shopify Plus) and Marketing automation (Klaviyo).
  • Systems Integration: Deep, practical understanding of APIs, middleware (Celigo, Jitterbit, MuleSoft), iPaaS, and event-driven integration.
  • Data & Analytics: Strong background in data architecture, ETL processes, and leveraging tools like PowerBI for business intelligence.
  • Information Governance: Experience establishing standards for documentation, data ownership, access controls, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills with the ability to translate executive objectives into clear technical requirements.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

  • Systems Architecture & Integration (35%): Coordinate architecture design with MSP and vendors: Build out technology architecture solution vision aligned with HydroPeptide’s business objectives, current systems, capability roadmap, and IT standards. Data Flow Management: Oversee integration vendors/iPaas tools for orders, inventory, customers, financials, and analytics. System Mapping : Maintain a comprehensive, living map of systems, data flows, and dependencies. Audit & Optimize: Conduct ongoing audits to identify redundancies, data fragmentation, technical debt, and security risks.
  • Technology Strategy & Platform Management (25%): Maintain IT roadmap aligned to business priorities: Develop and execute a technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and revenue goals. Platform Stewardship: Evaluate, select, and implement new tools while managing the retirement or replacement of inefficient systems. Vendor Management: Oversee relationships, evaluate contracts, and ensure performance and cost-efficiency across all technology partners. Executive Partnership: Provide clear technology recommendations to executive leadership.
  • IT Operations, Infrastructure & Security (20%): Infrastructure Oversight: Ensure Managed Service Provider (MSP) manages network servers, backups, and security controls. Coordinate incident response with MSP and internal stakeholders. Access & Governance: Oversee user permissions, security protocols, and data privacy compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA). Information Stewardship: Safeguard data integrity and establish standards for documentation and data ownership. Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting for mission-critical issues and preserve institutional knowledge.
  • AI Strategy, Automation & Intelligence (10%): AI Roadmap Development: Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency through AI. Define HydroPeptide’s AI strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, data governance standards, and long-term scalability. AI Capability Assessment: Evaluate emerging AI technologies and automation tools to determine applicability across the company and customer experiences. Review target tools with MSP to incorporate into the infrastructure withing the established governance. Responsible AI Governance: Establish and enforce standards for ethical use of AI, data privacy, model transparency, and security in partnership with Finance and Legal. AI-Driven Optimization: Identify and lead high-impact automation opportunities (e.g., forecasting, customer segmentation, personalization, fraud detection, inventory optimization).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%): E-commerce & B2B: Partner with the Sales and Marketing teams on platform optimization and B2B requirements. Supply Chain : Work with the team on ERP, logistics, and supply chain technology. Marketing & Finance: Support marketing technology stacks and collaborate with Finance on reporting infrastructure and analytics. Other duties as assigned, with room for growth as the role evolves.
