About The Position

West Shore Home is hiring an onsite Director of IT Platform and Services in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and leading through managers, this role leads the enterprise platforms, infrastructure, network and telecommunications, identity, and site reliability that support field and office teams. The director owns the multi-year strategy and roadmap, operating and capital budgets, and the reliability, security, and cost-to-serve of the portfolio as the company grows organically and through acquisitions. This hands-on leadership role focuses on redesigning how IT work gets done so the function can grow in capability faster than in headcount. The director will champion AI and automation, build secure foundations for enterprise AI, and treat technology as a business tool. The position partners with executive, functional, and field leaders to translate business priorities into technology plans and communicate trade-offs, risk, and value. The role is full-time, salaried, and exempt, with a Monday–Friday schedule. The position leads the IT Platform and Services leadership team, establishes operating practices and measurable results, and serves as the IT infrastructure and operations lead for acquisition diligence and integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience; eight years of progressive IT leadership experience may substitute for the degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years leading IT teams and at least 3 years managing through managers or senior team leads.
  • Experience owning enterprise IT operations end to end—including infrastructure, network and telecommunications, cloud, identity, and enterprise platforms—in a multi-site, hybrid environment.
  • Experience owning an IT operating and capital budget and vendor portfolio, with a record of improving cost-to-serve and negotiating favorable contracts.
  • Demonstrated record of automating infrastructure and platform operations using AI, workflow automation, and infrastructure as code, with measurable results.
  • Experience building or maturing IT service management (ITIL) and site reliability engineering practices for business-critical services.
  • Experience leading a technology function through significant growth or transformation, including M&A diligence and post-close integration.
  • Hands-on fluency with generative AI, copilots, and agentic tools, and ability to set guardrails aligned with company AI policy.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking and telecom, cloud and SaaS platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure), workforce and customer identity (e.g., Entra ID, Auth0), and security fundamentals.
  • Strong financial acumen and executive communication skills, including the ability to present strategy, results, risk, and investment cases to senior leadership.
  • Skill in both technical change management and organizational change management.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Experience in a field-based, multi-location operating company such as home services, construction, retail, or distribution.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, Azure or AWS architect, CISSP or CISM, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi-year strategy and roadmap for enterprise platforms, infrastructure, network and telecommunications, identity, and site reliability, aligning it with business strategy and communicating it to executive leadership.
  • Lead the IT Platform and Services leadership team through managers, set outcomes, remove obstacles, and build organizational capability and bench strength.
  • Be accountable for the availability, security, resilience, and cost of enterprise platforms, including collaboration and productivity, workforce and customer identity (IAM and CIAM), cloud and SaaS, and infrastructure.
  • Own LAN, WAN and SD-WAN, wireless, voice and contact center platforms, and carrier services; ensure new and acquired locations come online on schedule and to standard.
  • Establish and lead a site reliability engineering practice with service level objectives, observability, automated remediation, incident management, and post-incident reviews.
  • Champion AI and automation within IT, set measurable toil-reduction targets, and provide secure foundations for enterprise AI.
  • Own the operating and capital budget and multi-year financial plan; apply FinOps discipline to cloud and SaaS; lead vendor sourcing, negotiation, and performance management.
  • Partner with the Chief Information and Security Officer on access governance, Zero Trust practices, vulnerability remediation, and audit and compliance readiness.
  • Govern the project portfolio for time, budget, and quality, and establish a KPI scorecard and review cadence to make improvement visible to the business.
  • Build a playbook for standing up new locations and lead IT infrastructure and operations technical diligence and integration for acquisitions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to functional and field leaders, translating priorities into the roadmap and communicating trade-offs, risk, and value in business terms.
