The Pacific Coast Internship Consortium (PCIC) is a developing psychology internship consortium program focused on training future psychologists in evidence-based, ethically grounded, and culturally responsive clinical skills. Training sites are located throughout Southern California and are partially affiliated with The Chicago School's Anaheim and Los Angeles campuses. The consortium plans to offer five doctoral psychology internship positions in its initial cohort, with anticipated growth and pursuit of APPIC membership and APA accreditation. PCIC currently adheres to a practitioner-scholar model, emphasizing developmental training, collaborative learning, and shared resources, aligning with APA profession-wide competencies.

Requirements

  • 3 years of professional experience in clinical practice, student training and supervision, consultation, project management or related fields.
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Currently licensed psychologist in good standing, with licensure in the state of California.
  • Ability to travel to academic and consortium site locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral level, licensed clinical psychologist in California in good standing.
  • 5 years of experience in clinical practice; student training and supervision; and consultation, program evaluation, and/or project management.
  • Experience with APA accreditation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the department’s daily operations and achieving goals related to ongoing quality improvement, program development, and expansion.
  • Program administration.
  • Serving as Training Director for consortium-based training programs.
  • Managing APA and APPIC Accreditation documentation and compliance (e.g., self-study, annual reports, substantial change notifications).
  • Organizing and managing the APPIC selection process.
  • Developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant entities.
  • Managing marketing and communications.
  • Handling utilization reporting to internal and external constituents.
  • Maintaining all training records.
  • Executing alumni requests for internship verifications (e.g., licensure, credential banking, employment verification).
  • Providing training leadership for the internship program Oversight Committee.
  • Offering supplemental clinical supervision of doctoral interns.
  • Leading, developing, and coordinating the internship’s Central Training Day.
  • Coordinating or providing Central Training group supervision for doctoral interns.
  • Supporting site supervisors in planning, developing, and delivering didactic training as part of the Central Training program.
  • Consulting with supervisors, administration, and community partners regarding training and licensure issues.
  • Tracking and communicating intern progress toward internship completion.
  • Managing community partner relations.
  • Overseeing site development.
  • Managing contracts.
  • Acting as a liaison among sites, students, and supervisors.
  • Conducting site evaluations.
  • Ensuring site consistency in adherence to PCIC training requirements.
