About The Position

The Chicago School is a nonprofit university with multiple locations and a growing online presence, dedicated to training professionals in psychology, behavioral health, and nursing. It emphasizes student success, innovation, and community impact, with students contributing over 1.2 million service hours annually. The Pacific Coast Internship Consortium (PCIC) is a developing psychology internship program affiliated with The Chicago School, aiming to train future psychologists in evidence-based, ethically grounded, and culturally responsive clinical skills. The consortium will initially offer five doctoral psychology internship positions, with plans for growth and APPIC membership/APA accreditation. PCIC follows a practitioner-scholar model, focusing on developmental training, collaborative learning, and shared resources, aligning with APA profession-wide competencies. The Director of PCIC will oversee daily operations, program development, quality improvement, and expansion efforts, based at the Los Angeles or Anaheim Campus, with potential travel required.

Requirements

  • 3 years of professional experience in clinical practice, student training and supervision, consultation, project management or related fields.
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Currently licensed psychologist in good standing, with licensure in the state of California.
  • Ability to travel to academic and consortium site locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral level, licensed clinical psychologist in California in good standing.
  • 5 years of experience in clinical practice; student training and supervision; and consultation, program evaluation, and/or project management.
  • Experience with APA accreditation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the department’s daily operations and achieve goals related to ongoing quality improvement, program development, and expansion.
  • Program administration, including training director for consortium-based training programs.
  • Manage APA and APPIC Accreditation documentation and compliance (e.g., self-study, annual reports, substantial change notifications).
  • Organize and manage the APPIC selection process.
  • Develop policies and procedures that ensure compliance with relevant entities.
  • Handle marketing and communications.
  • Manage utilization reporting to internal and external constituents.
  • Maintain all training records.
  • Execute alumni requests for internship verifications (e.g., licensure, credential banking, employment verification).
  • Provide training leadership for the internship program Oversight Committee.
  • Offer supplemental clinical supervision of doctoral interns.
  • Lead, develop, and coordinate the internship’s Central Training Day.
  • Coordinate or provide Central Training group supervision for doctoral interns.
  • Support site supervisors in planning, developing, and delivering didactic training as part of the Central Training program.
  • Consult with supervisors, administration, and community partners regarding training and licensure issues.
  • Track and communicate intern progress toward internship completion.
  • Manage community partner relations.
  • Oversee site development and contract management.
  • Act as a liaison among sites, students, and supervisors.
  • Conduct site evaluations.
  • Ensure site consistency in adherence to PCIC training requirements.
