About The Position

The Director of Information Technology will lead and manage all aspects of the company's IT operations, including infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, data, and AI strategy. This role involves direct management of in-house IT staff and oversight of third-party managed service providers. The Director will serve as a key technology partner across departments, ensuring IT systems support business objectives and drive operational improvements. Responsibilities include managing the IT budget, maintaining asset inventory, and evaluating vendor contracts. A strong focus will be placed on cybersecurity, compliance, and the strategic implementation of AI tools.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of progressive IT experience
At least 5 years in a management or leadership role
Demonstrated hands-on experience in a multi-site manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred
Proven track record managing both direct employees and third-party/MSP vendor relationships

Responsibilities

Directly manage 1–2 in-house IT staff and provide effective oversight of 6 MSP-managed indirect reports.
Foster a collaborative, accountable team culture aligned with company values and operational goals.
Serve as a cross-departmental technology partner, building strong relationships with operations, finance, HR, and plant management.
Develop, maintain, and enforce comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all IT functions.
Personally lead ERP system lifecycle activities — including hands-on configuration, module architecture, workflow customization, upgrade execution, and advanced troubleshooting — across all facilities, delegating routine operational tasks to the ERP Specialist while retaining final authority over all ERP decisions across all facilities.
Oversee the MSP's management and optimization of Microsoft cloud infrastructure (Azure/M365), including Exchange, SharePoint, and related services.
Provide strategic direction and accountability for Microsoft Windows Server environments, including file and print services, SQL Server, and related infrastructure.
Hold the MSP accountable for ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability of all IT systems and services.
Lead and maintain the company's cybersecurity program in alignment with the CIS (Center for Internet Security) Framework.
Oversee system security, data protection, backup and disaster recovery strategies across all locations.
Conduct regular security assessments, manage vulnerability remediation, and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Develop and maintain incident response plans and business continuity procedures.
Directly author, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and data pipelines that extract actionable insights from ERP and legacy systems, setting the technical standard and reviewing the ERP Specialist’s work for accuracy and performance.
Guide the ERP Specialist in delivering Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring outputs meet organizational standards for quality and usability.
Ensure leadership receives timely, decision-ready data visuals that drive operational improvements.
Champion the expansion of AI tools and capabilities throughout the organization.
Lead the adoption and optimization of Microsoft Copilot as part of the company's core AI strategy.
Evaluate and implement additional AI solutions tailored to specific operational needs, including: Formulation efficiency and process optimization, Capacity planning and forecasting, Workforce and administrative productivity gains.
Own and manage the IT cost center budget, including forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control.
Maintain complete and accurate IT asset inventory including computers, peripheral devices, and mobile phones.
Evaluate vendor contracts and managed service agreements for cost effectiveness and performance.
Make data-driven purchasing and renewal decisions to maximize ROI.
