About The Position

Avesta Housing is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Director of Independent Living to lead our 88-unit Independent Living program and resident services at 75 State Street. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee the Independent Living team, coordinate resident care and service plans, and ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered support that promotes independence and well-being. You’ll collaborate with residents, families, healthcare providers, and community partners while managing occupancy goals, departmental operations, and resident programs. Requirements

  • Health care professional with experience in healthcare settings, preferably with older adults/senior living.
  • Minimum of seven years related professional experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in managing high-quality employees.
  • Proficiency with technology, including MS Office Suite, Caremerge, and PointClickCare.
  • Ability to skillfully resolve sensitive and challenging family and resident situations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of residents’ rights under Maine law.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong preference for experience working in a senior living care setting
  • LPN or MSW preferred
