About The Position

The Independent Living Manager oversees the daily operations of residential programs, ensuring individuals’ service needs are met and programs operate efficiently. This role supervises Direct Support Professionals and Assistant Managers, coordinates staffing and schedules, ensures compliance with agency and state standards, and collaborates with leadership to maintain high-quality services. This role is about helping create stability, growth, and opportunity for individuals and families.

  • Decision making skills and ability to work independently, following established programs and procedures.
  • Must become DD certified within 18 months of hire.
  • Will meet and maintain the required certifications to become a medication technician and DD certified as required for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or General Education Development diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the field of disabilities.
  • Additional experience and/or a four year degree in a related human services field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Direct Support Professionals and Assistant Managers.
  • Ensure individualized program needs are met through active participation in ISP/IEP meetings.
  • Create and manage staff schedules, provide coverage when needed, and communicate changes promptly.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate staff; foster a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, data tracking, financial records, and timely reports.
  • Maintain safe, well-supplied, and welcoming homes and agency vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, confidentiality standards, and state licensure requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Carry out delegated nursing interventions and medication administration requirements, if applicable.
