About The Position

The mission of the Director of Program Impact & Evaluation is to document, validate, and clearly communicate the impact of Mentoring Alliance programs for key constituents. Through rigorous evaluation, credible analysis, and effective storytelling, the DPIE demonstrates program effectiveness, strengthens partnerships with school systems, and supports strategic decision-making that increases impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience in program evaluation, data analysis, or educational impact measurement required
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Strong credibility with school systems and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Leads the alignment of Mentoring Alliance's theory of change by developing clearly defined inputs, outputs, and outcomes in collaboration with the Program Development team and external partners.
  • Coordinates the administration of surveys, assessments, and evaluation tools while partnering with evaluators and statisticians to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring findings are methodologically sound and effectively measure program impact.
  • Ensures the accuracy, quality, and reliability of data collected across programs and regions by validating internal and partner school district data, maintaining statistically reliable datasets, and overseeing externally validated annual impact reporting to support informed decision-making and demonstrate organizational effectiveness.
  • Serves as Mentoring Alliance's subject matter expert on out-of-school-time (OST) funding by partnering with school districts, accountability teams, and administrators to demonstrate program impact, align initiatives with funding and accountability requirements, and provide strategic guidance that helps schools maximize available funding opportunities and student outcomes.
  • Develops and communicates compelling, data-driven narratives that demonstrate Mentoring Alliance's impact to school districts, executive leadership, donors, and community partners.
  • Creates annual impact reports and executive communication tools while serving as the organization's subject matter expert on program outcomes, representing Mentoring Alliance in high-level presentations and strategic discussions with superintendents, school boards, and other key stakeholders.
  • Partners with the Senior Director of Program Development to evaluate organizational data, identify opportunities to strengthen program effectiveness, and refine the theory of change based on measurable outcomes.
  • Provides strategic insights that support continuous improvement while fostering organizational alignment, clarity, and credibility.
  • Participates in committees, leadership meetings, and ministry functions, and performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Program Development or President/CEO in support of the ministry's mission.
