Millennium Hotels & Resorts is seeking a dynamic and engaging Director of Human Resources to join the leadership team at M Social Sunnyvale. This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of our pre-opening leadership team, helping to establish the culture, people strategy, and HR infrastructure that will support operational excellence from day one. The Director of Human Resources will lead strategic initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, develop leaders, and reinforce our commitment to hospitality excellence. Your Impact The Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic partner to hotel leadership, supporting a high-performance workplace while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. This role oversees recruitment, employee relations, leadership development, and HR operations across assigned hotels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, especially in the hospitality industry or multi-property settings.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive engagement and performance.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Dynamic leadership presence with the ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience in managing employee relations, conflict resolution, and providing counsel to leadership teams.
  • Proficient in human resources information systems (HRIS); experience with Paycom is a plus.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, performance management processes, and leadership development programs
  • Support service culture initiatives that reinforce our Passion for Hospitality and service excellence standards
  • Partner with hotel leadership to support employee engagement and retention efforts
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to build high-performing teams
  • Provide coaching and guidance to hotel leaders on effective people management
  • Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Support workers’ compensation, leave administration, and unemployment processes as needed
  • Support the implementation and optimization of HR systems to ensure operational efficiency and data integrity
  • Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends to identify risks and opportunities
  • Maintain employment records and ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Facilitate training sessions for leaders and employees on compliance, leadership development, and service standards
