About The Position

Morris Health Services (MHS) is seeking a Human Resources Director with a leadership presence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a full-scope HR role. This position offers the opportunity to lead every aspect of the human resources function while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day work that supports employees and leaders across the organization. From recruitment and onboarding to payroll, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and engagement, you'll play a critical role in shaping the employee experience and supporting our mission. You'll recruit and onboard new team members, oversee payroll and leave processes, navigate employee relations matters, maintain compliance, and serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders alike. Requirements

  • A passion for employee engagement, culture-building, and accountability.
  • Two or more years of HR experience; healthcare HR experience preferred.
  • Experience with payroll and HR administration preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and OSHA.
  • High comfort level balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on operational work.
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and follow-through.
  • The ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare HR experience preferred.
  • Experience with payroll and HR administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding efforts.
  • Oversee payroll processing, timekeeping, and related workflows.
  • Administer employee benefits and provide employee education and support.
  • Coordinate leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims.
  • Manage background studies, personnel files, and new hire compliance activities.
  • Conduct investigations, provide guidance on employee relations matters, and oversee corrective action processes.
  • Coach and support leaders in performance management and employee development.
  • Interpret and administer policies while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Complete required reporting, annual audits, and maintain accurate records.
  • Foster a positive, mission-driven culture throughout the organization.
  • Serve as a member of the campus leadership team.
