About The Position

Serves as the strategic business leader of hotel operations and assumes the responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence. Oversees key operational departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage/Culinary, Engineering/Maintenance, and Event Management (where applicable). Responsible for developing and executing departmental strategies that align with brand standards and initiatives. Ensures delivery of exceptional guest experiences, drives associate engagement, grows revenue, and maximizes overall financial performance. As a member of the Executive Committee, collaborates with the General Manager and key leaders to implement property-wide strategies that meet or exceed the expectations of guests, associates, ownership, and brand partners.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations, with a proven track record of success in operational leadership roles within Food & Beverage and/or Rooms Division.
  • Experience overseeing multiple departments and leading leaders, including managing department heads and other management-level associates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage guests, associates, and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and challenging situations with professionalism, sound judgment, and composure.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications.
  • Previous guest service experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training, certifications, or hospitality-related education preferred.
  • Prior experience in a hotel or hospitality environment strongly preferred.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and Guest Services, maintaining a strong and visible presence throughout the hotel.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are consistently met.
  • Ensure full compliance with brand standards, operating procedures, and service expectations across all operational departments.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and mentor department leaders and team members to deliver professional, warm, and memorable guest experiences.
  • Address and resolve escalated guest concerns with urgency, sound judgment, and effective communication.
  • Oversee labor management, budgeting, forecasting, and departmental performance to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and other departments to drive revenue growth and support overall property initiatives.
  • Analyze daily operational reports and performance metrics to identify trends, improve service delivery, and increase profitability.
