Founding Director of Growth

Joyful HealthNew York City, NY
Hybrid

About The Position

Joyful Health is building the AI-powered financial operating system for healthcare practices. Our mission is to bring the joy back to running a private practice by simplifying financial operations so providers can focus on patient care. We spent 10 months working as fractional CFOs for a dozen practices, doing this work side by side with providers as we developed our product. We just announced our $22M Series A led by CRV and world-class investors including the founders of MongoDB & KAYAK. 🚀 We have an enormous opportunity in front of us. The broken healthcare payment ecosystem impacts practices of all sizes, and the opportunity to make a real difference is massive. This role is full-time. We’re looking for someone NYC-based who is open to coming into the office 3 days a week. The base pay range for this role is $175,000–$220,000 per year.

Requirements

  • Passionate about Joyful Health’s mission — you care deeply about empowering healthcare practices, improving financial outcomes, and fixing what’s broken in healthcare.
  • Love being externally facing — you’re energized by building relationships, running events, and creating meaningful industry touchpoints.
  • 8–12+ years of relevant experience, ideally in: Growth, marketing, or GTM leadership at early-stage or growth-stage startups
  • Partnerships, community, or ecosystem development
  • Event-led GTM or program management
  • Healthcare or healthtech (a strong plus)
  • You've built a growth function before (or a meaningful piece of one) and know what good looks like at each stage.
  • You've managed people, budgets, and cross-functional programs.
  • Thrive in ambiguity and build structure from scratch — you create clarity, repeatability, and process where none exists.
  • Exceptionally organized and operationally strong — you manage logistics with excellence, love project planning, and can run multiple programs simultaneously without dropping the ball.
  • Have a builder mentality — you iterate quickly, test new ideas, and turn what works into a system.
  • Work extremely well cross-functionally — you shine in roles that require coordinating between founders, sales, product, and SMEs.
  • Excellent communication skills — warm, crisp, credible, and tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Energized by events — not just attending them, but designing and running them with precision and care.
