About The Position

The Director of Group Services position plans, develops, coordinates, and supervises the Day Treatment Intensive Program, ensuring it meets the needs and interests of each client. This role also participates in budget development and billing for the department/program, overseeing its implementation and management. The Director will organize and supervise the provision of community meetings, safety of groups, process groups, and rehab activity groups, including assessment, treatment planning, and direct treatment services. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, evaluating, supervising, and disciplining group/activity therapists and aides, as well as organizing staffing for the DTI Program to meet regulatory and policy requirements. The Director will directly monitor the program by working evening and weekend shifts, and ensure the quality of verbal reporting and written documentation of client involvement and progress. This role coordinates DTI and other group services with the overall treatment schedule and with other departments, and manages community DTI contacts for outings and services. The Director reviews DTI Program participation hours monthly and recommends activity treatment actions, and is responsible for the security and accuracy of departmental petty cash.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Marriage, Family and Child Counseling from an accredited college or university
  • Two (2) years direct service experience with the mentally ill, preferably with adolescents and group therapy and activities
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience in a health care setting, preferably in running a day treatment intensive program.
  • California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage, Family Therapist (LMFT).
