About The Position

Capitol Technology University is seeking a Director of Graduate School Programs to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our graduate programs. The Director will be a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, who is passionate about making a positive impact on the student experience. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position located on our campus in Laurel, MD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • At least 5 years of experience in higher education.
  • Ability to perform operational and administrative duties with speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop successful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively assist with the day-to-day operations of the graduate programs and implement effective strategies for enrollment growth.
  • Support the evaluation, onboarding, and training of new chairs, committee members, and external examiners.
  • Assist in conducting necessary updates and revisions in Jenzabar for new Thesis and Dissertation Chair assignments, Committee Member assignments, and student academic progress notes.
  • Assist the Graduate School team with scheduling Thesis and Dissertation Defenses.
  • Assist with Doctoral Residency preparation and on-campus operations, including room reservations, food orders, room setup, and student attendance tracking.
  • Assist in organizing files in the Graduate School SharePoint and OneDrive to ensure proper updating and archiving of files.
  • Coordinate with Admissions and Advising teams to assist with communications with prospective and current students.
  • Support Graduate School operations on-campus, including serving as student liaison for campus visits and events.
  • Contribute to the development of university policy in areas affecting graduate studies.
  • Provide data and analysis of graduate programs as requested.
  • Perform other duties as required.
