Le Meridien Indianapolis is seeking a Director of Food and Beverage to oversee multiple outlets and event operations. This role provides overall leadership and direction for all Food and Beverage departments and staff, overseeing the daily operations of all F&B outlets, including restaurants, bars, banquet facilities, and room service. In the absence of a chef on site, the F&B Director acts as the property's chef. The position involves developing and executing business strategies to increase revenue, optimize cost control, and improve customer satisfaction, as well as developing and implementing the F&B department's vision, goals, and strategies in alignment with overall organizational objectives. The role also includes overseeing hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of all food and beverage department managers and staff, and maintaining quality standards in food, beverage, and service across all venues and event operations. Collaboration with senior culinary leadership and the culinary team to create innovative menus and seasonal offerings is key. The Director ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to, seeking guidance from Human Resources when needed. Daily inventory is conducted to assess and order necessary supplies. Financial performance is monitored and analyzed, including managing departmental budgets, forecasts, and P&L statements. Compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as local and federal regulations, is mandatory. Strong vendor relationships are built and maintained for purchasing and supply chain management. Service protocols, SOPs, and training programs are developed and implemented to elevate guest experiences. The Director leads special event planning and banquet execution when applicable, aiming to achieve budgeted revenues and expenses and maximize profitability. Regular performance evaluations are conducted, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities. Contributions to the profitability and guest satisfaction perception of other hotel departments are expected. A culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement is fostered. Participation in the preparation of the annual hotel budget is required. The role aims to increase guest satisfaction by delivering an exceptional product through employee development. Procedures for credit control, financial transactions, security of financial assets, and inventory control are maintained and corrected. Guest requests, complaints, or questions are responded to and resolved courteously and timely. Sustainable practices in sourcing, waste management, and operations are implemented to align with environmental goals.
