About The Position

Terrible's is seeking an experienced, strategic, and detail-oriented Director of Financial Reporting to lead the company's financial reporting component for multiple year-end audits, quarterly consolidation of financial statements, management of loan compliance, and to serve as the primary liaison with external tax CPA’s for income tax compliance. This position plays a critical role in the production of timely and accurate financial statements for external financial reporting requirements. The Director of Financial Reporting partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Executive Leadership, external business partners, and external financial institutions to ensure financial statements and other external financial information is completed accurately and timely.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience required in financial reporting and accounting (may be with a combination of public accounting and/or industry experience)
  • Excellent and up-to-date knowledge of U.S. GAAP with ability to research propose, and document company positions of complex accounting issues
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of annual and quarterly consolidated financial statements for a large consolidation of entities, including balance sheet, income statement, equity statement, cash flow statement.
  • Prepares financial statement disclosures annually.
  • Serves as primary liaison with external auditors for multiple year-end financial statement audits.
  • Coordinates, directs, plans, and executes the financial reporting component of the financial statement audits.
  • Provides management and auditors with appropriate supporting documentation for the audits.
  • Assists in providing various financial schedules for gaming compliance audits.
  • Leads process improvements between internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Monitors and ensures loan agreement compliance across the organization and assists in the preparation of loan compliance calculations.
  • Serve as the primary contact with the external tax CPA’s to ensure accurate and timely income tax returns.
  • Assists with various requests from the external tax CPA’s.
  • Maintain administrative component of tax compliance.
  • Analyzes, researches, and concludes on new and proposed accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards.
  • Communicates and explains existing accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to management and accounting teams.
  • Prepare memorandums regarding the company’s position and impact to the company regarding complex accounting issues.
