About The Position

The Director of Financial Aid at the new Dallas South College Campus oversees the campus’s financial aid processes and services, working closely with the Campus President and Vice President of Financial Aid. The role leads the daily activities of the Financial Aid staff and supports students and parents through the financial aid application and award process.

Requirements

• Earned bachelor’s degree.
• Three to four years of professional, related experience in higher education.
• Knowledge of federal financial aid programs and recordkeeping requirements.
• Knowledge of higher education processes, supervisory practices, and personnel practices.
• Experience in management and leadership positions.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with financial aid software and systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with and counsel students and parents about applying for and receiving financial aid.
• Assist students and parents with completing forms and documents required to secure financial aid.
• Collect required documentation from students and/or parents and notify them of missing documentation.
• Prepare and maintain financial aid files for students receiving financial assistance.
• Reconcile Title IV funds.
• Direct the daily activities of the Financial Aid staff.
• Perform other duties as needed by the Campus President and Vice President of Financial Aid.
